Very professional and polite staff! You are greeted with a smile and the staff is ready to explain anything about the room or the proceedings during your stay if you do not understand. The room is traditionally Japanese for the full experience. The room is also as clean as can be and you are provided with yukata (evening clothing), fridge water and a welcome treat! There is also an onsen at the top floor! It is okay to arrive before you check in time and leave your baggage at the reception in case you have bo other choice than to arrive early. Same goes for after checking out: the friendly staff told us it was okay to leave our baggage for pickup, which was 4 hours later! Really helped us out as it was pouring outside.

Please note I have previously submitted a review for my stay at this property. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed it very much, so added an extra night. Perhaps this is why I've had 2 requests to rate the property. In summary, the staff couldn't have been more courteous or helpful. The room was well-prepared, comfortable and very clean, nice amenities, good shower, plenty of hot water and the Toto (look it up)! For sleeping, the futon on the first night was reasonably comfortable but adding a 2nd futon (double-storey futon!) made my hips very happy for the remainder of the stay.

I really enjoyed the ryokan experience, the staff was extremely hospitable, even showing you to your room and the interior of the room. My futon was made and the staff changed the size of my yukata without even making it obvious (guess I was smaller than they expected). The staff remembers you as a guest; I accidentally spoke in English once at check in and every staff would use English to introduce things to me. I had the Kaiseki meal and I would say I really enjoyed it, the staff would painstakingly introduce you to each ingredient, how to enjoy it and it was delicious.

Everything! It's a traditional inn experience with all the staff wearing Yukata and being extremely nice. The room was quite big with separate toilets and a huge wardrobe. It was quiet at the time of our stay. You can use Yukatas in the hotel included in the price They have public baths that we enjoyed a lot (on the top floor). The dinner we had was fantastic with many options (I took beef with Wagyu that came with 7 other plates of vegetables, miso soups, tofu, rice, etc''' My partner took the sushi option that was delicious as well and plenty to eat).

I liked the traditional Japanese style of the room with tatami mats and futon beds. I loved the shower room and the lighting at the sink/dressing area in the room which made it easier to get ready for the day. The staff taught me how to put on their traditional kimono which was very nice. The room was clean too and it is in a great location. We could see Kyoto tower from our room. We didn't get time to use any of their facilities e.g. a communal bath or tea/coffee in the lobby but overall everything was good.
